Rev. Forest Lee Parsons, 98, of Narragansett, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, November 9, 2018. He was the husband of the late Frances (Wiesen) Parsons. Born in Lockport, Illinois, he was the son of the late Forest Lee and Abigail (Forward) Parsons. Rev. Parsons was a graduate of Yale Divinity School. After graduating he and his wife served in the missionary field in Burma. He was a pastor in several churches in RI including Warwick Central Baptist, First Baptist Church of Pawtucket, and Church of the Master. He was a Deacon at Wakefield Baptist Church, and a member in the choir. In his retirement he served as interim pastor at numerous churches. He served honorably as a Colonel in the U.S Army Reserves. Forest will be remembered for his wonderful laugh and great sense of humor. He enjoyed singing and listening to music, his daily crossword puzzles, and reading, but most importantly he loved to spend time with his family. He is survived by his children Leslie Erickson and her husband Bruce of Narragansett and Philip Parsons and his wife Cristina of Johnston; grandchildren Rebecca Paquette and her husband Jonathan, Jon Erickson and his wife Kristin, Katherine Griffis-Parsons and her husband Darren, and Matthew Parsons and his wife Kelley; great-grandchildren Madeline, Ruby, Eden, Bryson, Colin, Emma, and Luke. He was predeceased by his siblings Joy Lyford, Gail Parsons, and Leroy Parsons. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 10 am in Wakefield Baptist Church, 236 Main St, Wakefield. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 4-7pm in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St, Wakefield. In lieu of flowers in Forests memory please hug and cherish the ones you love.
