Barbara Phyllis Sekator, 84, of Wakefield, passed away Friday. She was the wife of the late Charles Sekator. Born in South Kingstown, she was a daughter of the late Milfred and Pearl (Reels) Champlin. Mrs. Sekator was employed at South County Hospital and Little Pearless Childrens Clothing Store. She was a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe where she was a tribal secretary and treasurer. She is survived by four children, Charles Sekator of Narragansett, Lorrie Williams of Wakefield, Todd Sekator of Kingston, and Gina Sekator of West Warwick; eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; three brothers, Eugene O., Douglas W. and Craig A. Champlin; four sisters Virginia L. Perry, Sheila A. Champlin-Levy, Donna M. Maddox and Gail A. Champlin, as well as a host of nieces, nephews. She was the sister of Milford "Mickey" Champlin, Jr., Shirley M. Christy, Gloria J. Fry and Cynthia G. Champlin, and Gary Champlin. A committal service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
